
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 18) -– Some local government units (LGUs) in the Visayas and Mindanao suspended classes and work in government offices on Monday due to Tropical Depression Kabayan.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Kabayan made landfall in the vicinity of Manay, Davao Oriental on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
Signal No. 2 is currently raised over the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte including Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, Surigao del Sur, the northern portion of Agusan del Norte, the eastern portion of Agusan del Sur and the northern portion of Davao Oriental, PAGASA said.
The following LGUs announced their suspensions:
-Bohol (classes and work)
-Davao City (classes and work)
-Ormoc City, Leyte (Kindergarten to Grade 12)
-Maasin City, Leyte (classes in all levels)
