Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 5) — A total of 3,812 examinees out of 10,387 takers passed the 2023 Bar exams, the Supreme Court announced Tuesday.
Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando, 2023 Bar chairperson, said the passing rate is 36.77%.
Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) obtained the highest score with 94.08%. Next was San Beda University (92.20%), University of San Carlos (90.91%), University of the Philippines (UP) (89.45%), and University of Santo Tomas (UST) (85.25%).
UST’s Ephraim Porciuncula Bie was topnotcher with a score of 89.2625%.
Next are ADMU’s Mark Josel Padua Vivit (89.1250%) and San Beda University’s Frances Camille Altonaga Francisco (88.9125%).
Of the Top 20, UP had the biggest share at five, followed by ADMU and San Beda University with three examinees each.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated the Bar passers and reminded them to become champions of justice.
“As you begin your unique paths, stand firm in upholding integrity and remain true to the reasons that called you to practice law,” he wrote in a social media post.
“Remain united in ensuring that every Filipino has the benefit of a fair and equitable justice system,” Marcos added.
Last year, 8,241 out of 11,402 hopefuls passed the Bar exams, which is equivalent to a passing rate of 72.28%.
