Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 28) — San Miguel Corporation jumped by 131 points in Forbes’ World’s Best Employers list, settling at 43rd place.
The diversified conglomerate is now the highest ranked employer in the Philippines, and the only local company to make it to the top 50 of the world’s best.
Other Philippine companies that made it to the elite roster are Security Bank (54), Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company or Metrobank (162), Ayala Corporation (186), Alliance Global (283), Landbank (304), LT Group (361), and SM Investments (420).
Ramon Ang, president and chief executive officer of SMC, said it was an honor to be included in the list.
“This just goes to show that Filipinos can compete and run proudly with the very best in the world,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
“It also shows that given the right training, motivation, support, and a sense of a higher purpose, the Filipino workforce is highly motivated, effective, dedicated, and therefore fulfilled in their work,” he said.
According to Forbes.com, rankings were determined through a survey conducted by market research firm Statista, which covered more than 170,000 employees who work for various multinational companies and institutions from over 50 countries worldwide.
SMC was also included in Time Magazine’s list of World’s Best Companies for 2023, placing at 347 and being just two of six Filipino firms in the list.
