Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 23) — The tenth batch of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) has been repatriated from Israel amid the deadly war in the Middle Eastern country, the Department of Migrant Workers said Thursday.
Of the 42 OFWs, 30 are hotel workers and 12 are caregivers. The batch also included five children.
The repatriates were given cash and non-cash aid upon their arrival.
At the latest, 299 Filipinos have been repatriated from Israel, according to the DMW.
Last Friday, the ninth batch composed of 33 Filipinos arrived home.
A steady stream of OFWs from Israel have been returning to the Philippines ever since Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel last Oct. 7.
