Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 22) — RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of K-pop juggernaut BTS are preparing to fulfill their mandatory service in the military, their agency BigHit Music announced Wednesday.
Bighit has yet to give details on when the idols will enter the military.
“We ask you for your continued love and support for RM, Jimin, V, Jung Kook until they complete their military service and safely return,” Bighit said in a statement.
Jin, BTS’s oldest member, enlisted in December 2022 while members J-Hope and Suga entered the military in April and September this year, respectively.
Able-bodied men in South Korea are mandated to join their country’s armed forces by age 28 and serve at least 18 months.
Prior to Jin’s enlistment, BTS announced that it would pursue individual careers.
As the septet renewed its exclusive contract with Bighit in September 2022, the agency said the group will continue its activities by 2025 after they complete their military service.
