Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 15) — Occasional rains are expected in many parts of Luzon on Wednesday due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon or amihan, the state weather bureau said.
In a briefing early Wednesday morning, PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said the shear line may trigger rains in the Bicol Region, parts of Eastern Visayas, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora.
The amihan, meanwhile, will affect parts of Northern Luzon, bringing moderate to at times heavy rains in Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
The Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan will experience fair weather on Wednesday.
Badrina said the low pressure area earlier spotted east of Mindanao outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) still has no direct effect on the country.
“Medyo maliit pa ‘yong chance na maging bagyo ito within the day pero hindi inaalis yung posibilidad na sa mga susunod na araw ay posible itong maging bagyo,” he said.
[Translation: There is a small chance that it will develop into a storm within the day, but we’re not ruling out the possibility that it can develop into a tropical cyclone in the next few days.]
PAGASA said the LPA is still expected to enter PAR in the coming days.
A gale warning is also raised over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, the northern coast of Quezon, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and Eastern and Northern Samar.
