Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 9) — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared Nov. 3 to 9 of every year as the “Philippine Criminology Week.”
Under Proclamation No. 397, Marcos said it was “imperative to recognize the role of the criminology profession” and criminologists in protecting the country’s peace and security.
The chief executive tasked the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology to lead the observance of the Philippine Criminology Week and identify the programs, projects and activities for its annual celebration.
Other government agencies, including education institutions, were asked to participate in the activities.
The proclamation was signed on Nov. 7 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
