Manila North, South cemeteries all set for Undas

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 31) –– The Manila North and Manila South cemeteries are ready for the expected large crowds this Undas.

The Manila Public Information Office said in a statement that it recorded 123,645 visitors in both cemeteries on Monday.

In its 5 p.m. data on Monday, 67,350 people visited their departed loved ones at the Manila North Cemetery, while 10,745 visitors were recorded for Manila South Cemetery.

The high number of visitors was expected because the Manila North Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in the National Capital Region, occupying 54 hectares of land.

North cemetery authorities reminded in a separate statement on Oct. 11 that its main gates are open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Oct. 26 to Nov. 2.

It is also prohibiting alcoholic beverages, flammable materials, firearms or sharp objects, videoke or loud sound systems, gambling cards, pets, vendors, and vehicles (except for funeral car service last week).
