Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 31) – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will distribute the honoraria of teachers who served during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) until Friday, an official said.
The electoral board members will receive ₱10,000 for the chairman and ₱9,000 for the members, according to the updated Comelec honoraria.
Garcia earlier said the poll body decided to increase the honoraria because teachers will have to work longer hours to complete the manual tallying of votes.
Those who were injured will also receive compensation amounting to ₱200,000 to ₱500,000, Garcia told reporters on Tuesday.
“Pinapasubmit na po namin sa lahat ng regional directors namin sa Comelec yung listahan ng mga teachers na medyo kinakailangan namin bigyan ng financial support,” Garcia said.

Garcia said some volunteer teachers need financial assistance after getting caught in accidents while delivering election paraphernalia.
