PAGASA: Cloudy skies, rains expected on BSKE, Undas

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 27) — Parts of Luzon and the Visayas may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the upcoming elections and Undas, the state weather bureau said Friday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its special weather outlook for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

On Oct. 30-31, which also happened to be the BSKE, Bicol Region, the Visayas, Caraga, and Quezon province may experience cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the combined effects of Shear Line and low pressure area (LPA).

The bureau also said cloudy skies with light rains may be expected in Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Ilocos Region may experience partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains due to Northeast Monsoon.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said that on Nov. 1 to 3 , Quezon, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas may expect cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

It also said that there will be possible floods and landslides in low lying and mountainous areas due to the expected prolonged rains.

The weather bureau added that Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have mostly cloudy skies with light rains, while Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains due to Northeast Monsoon.

“The rest of the country will have isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening,” PAGASA said.

“Moderate to strong winds coming from the Northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough, while light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds will affect the rest of the country with slight to moderate sea,” it added.
