
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 24)— Some 335,000 security personnel will be deployed to different regions across the country for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) led the send-off and turnover ceremony of government forces and resources of different security agencies in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Monday.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is deploying 187,600 personnel, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is sending 30,300, while the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is assigning 117,585, according to officials present in the ceremony.

“Please protect the lives of our teachers, our electoral board members, our election officials in the field, and practically all the stakeholders participating in the 2023 Barangay and SK elections,” Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia told all security forces assigned for the polls..
“Utang po ng Commission on Elections sa kanilang lahat, sa inyong lahat ang pagko-conduct ng isang malinis, maayos, at karespe-respetong halalan,” he added.
[Translation: The Commission on Elections is in debt to all of you for conducting clean, well, and respected elections.]
Meanwhile, over 10,000 police personnel were already deployed throughout Region 3, the PNP Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said on Tuesday.
A send-off and handover ceremony were also held on Monday at the PRO3 parade grounds.
It was attended by representatives from the AFP, PCG, the Bureau of Fire Protection and other force multipliers.
