PH’s Chezka Centeno captures Women’s World 10-Ball title

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 23) – The World Pool-Billiard Association hailed Filipino cue artist Chezka Centeno as the women’s world 10-ball champion, beating China’s Han Yu in Klagenfurt, Austria on Sunday.

Centeno bested Yu in 9-5 score and won the $50,000 (more than P2.8 million) top prize.

“This is truly a dream come true moment for me,” Centeno said in an Instagram post. “This win is not just mine; it’s all of ours.”

Centeno secured all her five previous matches before the final stage, including the 9-8 semifinal round against Great Britain’s Allison Fisher.

Centeno is the second Filipino to hold the women’s world 10-ball champion crown after two-time winner Rubilen Amit.

She is also a four-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist.
