Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 18) — Is there anything that JK Labajo can’t achieve these days?
After making history in the Spotify global charts with his latest single “Ere,” JK Labajo was invited by Grammy-nominated Danish pop band Lukas Graham to perform at their Manila concert on October 22.
Labajo couldn’t contain his excitement as he shared on Instagram a screenshot of his brief online exchange with the band.
“omg huhuhu nag reply si lukas graham,” the 22-year-old OPM singer said in his Instagram story Wednesday.
Labajo commented on one of the band’s TikTok posts where they were performing their hit song “Love Someone,” saying that he is excited to watch their concert this weekend at the New Frontier Theatre in Quezon City.
“Heard you’re coming here! Can’t wait to watch the show!!” he said.
The band replied: “Hey JK! Why not come and perform this song with me instead?”
“OMG OMG NO WAAAAY,” Labajo responded while on cloud nine, “I’M DOWN!!”
Labajo made history as the first Filipino artist to land in Spotify’s top 100 global charts, ranking at 87th.
“Ere” is also currently the No. 1 song in the Philippines in the Billboard charts. The OPM hit landed as well at No. 138 in the Billboard Global (Excl. US) charts this week.
Labajo started his music career when he finished third in the first season of “The Voice Kids” in 2014. Before “Ere,” he was known for his classic hit “Buwan” in 2018.
