19th Asian Games: Team Philippines news and results

(CNN Philippines) — The 19th Asian Games, which was postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finally kicked off on Saturday in Hangzhou, China.

395 Filipino athletes are vying for supremacy across 40 sports in the quadrennial continental showpiece.

The Philippines is aiming to surpass its 19th place finish in the 2018 edition in Jakarta, Indonesia with a haul of four gold, two silver, and 15 bronze medals.

Olympic gold medalist weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, skateboarding sensation Margielyn Didal, and world no. 2 pole vaulter EJ Obiena will be at the front and center of the Team Philippines’ campaign.
