Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 21) — All members of K-pop giant BTS, also known as “Bangtan Boys,” have renewed their exclusive contracts with HYBE and BigHit Music.
“The board of directors has completed [their decision] on renewing the exclusive contracts of all seven members of BIGHIT MUSIC’s artist BTS,” the agency said in a statement cited by K-pop news website Soompi.
It added that the group’s contract will continue beyond 2025 when the members finish their military service.
“HYBE and BigHit Music will do everything we can to support and further improve BTS’ status,” it said.
BigHit Music also donated 1 billion won (₱42 million) in BTS ARMY’s name as a way of gratitude to the group and its fans.
BTS members are composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
Every member of the group is enlisting in the South Korean army for mandatory service. Their military duty will all be completed by 2025.
At present, Jin and J-Hope are fulfilling their mandatory duties while Suga is preparing to join the military soon.
All able-bodied men 18 to 28 years old are required to serve the military in South Korea for two years.
The band debuted in 2013 and renewed their contract with the same label in 2018.
