Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 26) — The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) resumed its whole-line operations Saturday morning, its private operator said after previously announcing limited services until Sunday.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said operations for the full line resumed at 10:30 a.m.

On Thursday, the company announced that Line 1 operations will be limited from Gil Puyat to Fernando Poe Jr. (Roosevelt) stations from Aug. 25 to 27. This meant no trains were expected to run from the stations of Libertad, EDSA, and Baclaran for three days due to ongoing repairs to address the mechanical problem encountered by a Gen-2 trainset.

This, along with the late notice, resulted in commuters struggling on Friday to look for other means of transportation.

However, the LRMC said on Saturday it had completed “all the necessary track works ahead of schedule, including the operational tests and safety clearance.”

“There will be no changes in the regular service schedule of LRT-1 for its last trip today,” its advisory read.

“The last train leaving Baclaran Station is at 9:30 PM, while the last trip from Fernando Poe Jr. Station is at 9:45 PM,” it added.
