Sept. 11 declared special non-working holiday in Ilocos Norte for late president Marcos’ 106th birthday

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 24) — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared Sept. 11 a special non-working holiday in the province of Ilocos Norte to mark the 106th birth anniversary of his father, the late dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos.

Malacañang released Proclamation No. 327 on Thursday. It was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, by the authority of the president.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Ilocos Norte be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the proclamation read.

The former president’s birth anniversary falls on Monday this year.

In 2022, Marcos also declared Sept. 12 holiday in the province to celebrate his father’s birthday.
