Some police officers allegedly lent their long firearms to civilian bodyguards of politicians. This was revealed in a Senate hearing on the killing of Aparri, Cagayan Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda earlier this year. The alleged mastermind is the mayor who’s accused of having a private army.
