
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 13) — Danilo Lacuna, Manila’s former vice mayor and father of Mayor Honey Lacuna, died Sunday. He was 85 years old.
News of his passing was shared by Mayor Lacuna on her Facebook page.
“It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the death of Hon. Danilo Bautista Lacuna, former vice mayor of Manila,” she wrote.
“Our beloved Daddy Danny joined his creator early this morning, August 13, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones,” she added.
Mayor Lacuna remembered her father as a man of “great service and compassion.”
The elder Lacuna was councilor of the city from 1968 to 1975, and served as vice mayor from 1970-1971, 1988-1992, and 1998-2017.
Earlier this month, the Manila City council awarded him with the Dangal ng Konseho Award for his years of meritorious service.
