Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 9) — The fanbase of P-pop kings SB19 emerged as the victor in Billboard’s recently concluded Fan Army Face-Off, outvoting the fans of K-pop group Seventeen.
Billboard on Wednesday said A’TIN brought in 51.1% of the votes against the CARATs with 48.9% in the finals round.
This year’s showdown saw 64 artists’ fandoms enter the battle fray to find out whose fan base was the strongest.
The online voting opened on July 5. The semifinals found the fan armies for Cardi B, SB19, Seventeen, and Shakira in a showdown to determine who moves to the final round.
SB19’s A’TIN is taking the crown from last year’s winner, STAYs — the fanbase of K-pop group Stray Kids.
SB19 — the Filipino boy group behind global hits “Gento,” “Mapa,” and “What?” — has been making waves on the international stage following prestigious award show nominations, sold-out concerts, and live television appearances.
Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh are currently on their “Pagtatag!” world tour, which has local and international stops.
Congratulations to @SB19Official's A'TIN for winning #BBFanArmy2023! 🏆 #BillboardNews pic.twitter.com/0SMcpJ2rnm
