
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 17) — Some local government units (LGUs) announced class suspensions on Monday as the enhanced southwest monsoon, or habagat, continues to dump rains over the country.
Angeles City, Pampanga — all levels in both public and private schools
Baliwag City, Bulacan — all levels in both public and private schools
Manaoag, Pangasinan — pre-school to senior high school in both public and private schools
Iloilo City — all levels in both public and private schools

Gloomy weather is expected in Ilocos region, Central Luzon, Mimaropa and Metro Manila, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA also said the low pressure area east of Mindanao is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday. It has no direct effect yet on the country’s weather.
