PNP to enforce gun ban on Marcos’ 2nd SONA

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 12) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will implement a gun ban in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon on the day of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 24.

Authorities said the implementation will start from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

The PNP earlier said it was already in the final stages of preparation for the SONA.

PNP Chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda on Monday said around 23,000 police personnel and force multipliers will be deployed.
