
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 10) — The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 in Aklan and South Cotabato increased in the past week, data from OCTA Research showed Monday.
According to OCTA fellow Guido David, Aklan posted a 35.3% positivity rate as of July 8, up from 27.3% a week ago.
South Cotabato also recorded a higher positivity rate at 21.4% from July 1’s 16.1%.
But David noted that five provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao witnessed low positivity rates—Cebu, Davao del Sur, Iloilo, Leyte, and Misamis Oriental.
Citing data from the Department of Health, David said the country’s positivity rate stood at 6.3% on Sunday with 403 new cases.
