Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 26) — Customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. in some portions of Las Piñas City, and Bacoor and Imus in Cavite province will experience daily service interruptions from June 28 until August 8.
The service interruption is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m., Maynilad said in a statement Sunday.
The company said it will replace an initial three ultrafiltration membranes at the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2, causing the service interruptions. Eleven more membranes would be scheduled for replacement.
“This activity is being done in preparation for the Amihan Season, which is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023,” Maynilad said.
“We apologize for the inconvenience. This project is in line with our effort to continuously improve water service. Thank you,” the firm added.
Maynilad has so far conducted at least five water interruptions since the start of the year.
In December, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System issued a notice to explain to Maynilad due to the company’s recurring service interruptions, affecting thousands of its customers in Metro Manila and nearby areas in Cavite.
