Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 24) — Local rock band Silent Sanctuary expressed dismay after organizers canceled the musicians’ performance at a Pride event in Quezon City due to “homophobic actions.”
“We were really looking forward to being part of your celebration but judgment has been passed without giving us equal opportunity to defend ourselves,” Silent Sanctuary said in a statement Saturday afternoon.
LGBTQIA+ group and organizer Pride PH earlier said they dropped Silent Sanctuary from the list of performers of the “Love Laban sa QC” Pride festival due to“homophobic actions done to one of our own reported earlier this morning.”
“Pride PH strongly condemns and strongly stands against any form of discrimination, homophobia, and harassment,” it added.
