Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 15) — South Korean actor Song Joong-ki has announced that his wife British actress Katy Louise Saunders has given birth to a baby boy in Rome.
Korean entertainment website Soompi shared a letter posted by Song on his official fan cafe to share the good news, along with an adorable photo of his newborn baby holding his hand.
“Right now, I’m in Italy. Here, in my wife’s hometown of Rome, we happened to welcome our baby. It’s a healthy son. And both the baby and his mother… are in very good health. As we welcomed [our child] in good health and joy, I am taking care of my family very happily, with a grateful heart,” Song wrote in a letter posted on Wednesday.
Song announced his marriage and the pregnancy of Saunders last January — three years after his divorce from Korean actress Song Hye-kyo.
The 37-year-old actor made his acting debut in 2008 in “A Frozen Flower,” and went to star in “A Werewolf Boy,” which became a big box office hit. His more recent works are “Vincenzo” and “Reborn Rich.”
