Order your favorite McNuggets and McChicken with NewJeans packaging
It’s a little hard to believe that it was only last year that Korean girl group NewJeans disrupted the K-pop industry with their debut single “Attention.” The group, composed of members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, has since taken the world by storm. “OMG” and “Hype Boy” are pop perfection; tracks that are guaranteed to get the party going no matter the venue. Fast food giant McDonald’s is tapping into the girl group’s power this June, having them be the face of their Chicken Dance campaign which is rolling out across 10 regions in Asia. Following the campaign’s launch in South Korea last May, starting June 13, Filipino Bunnies can get their hands on the six-piece McNuggets and McChicken in limited-edition NewJeans packaging, for only ₱99 a la carte each. There will also be special deals for McNuggets and McChicken meals on the McDonald’s app. Those who visit the app can also download exclusive NewJeans photosets that can be used as phone backgrounds. While this local offering doesn’t include the McCrispy line that was launched in South Korea, the NWJNs-branded packaging and lowered price make it worth purchasing. — GABY GLORIA

Visit a Pride Month exhibit
Space Encounters Gallery expands their, uh, space with the new SPACEXL, which will feature bigger exhibitions with panels that can be rearranged to suit the configuration of each exhibition. One of the exhibits that opens SPACEXL is “In the Name of Love,” a group exhibit. The artists in the exhibit are Tokwa Peñaflorida, whose work reflects on the queer experience; JC Peñaflorida, who magnifies the strangeness of his subjects; Ginoe, who mixes activism and pop culture, creating art that is confrontational; Ahron Daffon, a young illustrator focused on the details of young queer love; and Thai artist Anmom, whose work for the show is inspired by the Greek myth of the Golden Apple with an erotic and unapologetic queer twist.
The show runs until July 1, 2023. SPACEXL is located at Unit 7D and 7C, 7/F Padilla Building, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and Saturdays by appointment. Check their Instagram page for more details. — DON JAUCIAN

Check out the Starbucks Ocean Friends collection
What is it about having a cute drink container that makes the drink itself taste better? Call it hokey psychology, but it works for me. If you’re the type who loves to make the drinking experience extra cute each time, perhaps the Starbucks Ocean Friends collection would catch your fancy. The collection is an ode to the gentle giants underwater, and 5% of every purchase will go to Plastic Credit Exchange, or PCX. The organization focuses on diverting plastic waste from ending back in nature. As for the drink collection itself, I don’t think I’ve ever used “gigil” to describe a cup but it’s the most fitting word I can think of. That blue coffee cup with a white seal peeking out of the cover makes me smile every time I see it. And if you wanna cop one for yourself, it’s available in-store and on their official stores in Lazada and Shopee. — MB
