Nesthy Petecio takes boxing gold at 32nd SEA Games

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 14) – Olympic silver-medalist Nesthy Petecio outclassed her Indonesian foe to win boxing gold at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Sunday.

She outpunched Indonesian fighter Ratna Sari Devi in the women’s featherweight (57 kg) finals and won via judges’ scorecards.

It was Petecio’s second SEA Games gold medal, having prevailed in the same event in the 2019 Games in Manila.

At the SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam last year, she took home the bronze medal after moving up to the lightweight (60 kg) category.

Meanwhile, Norlan Petecio, the Olympian’s younger brother, bowed to Thailand’s Bunjong Sinsiri and settled for silver in the welterweight (67 kg) division.
