Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 5) — An all-female Philippine delegation walked the Cambodian stage Friday night, as the 32nd Southeast Asian Games officially kicked off at the Morodok Techo Stadium in Phnom Penh.
Volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez led the Philippine team as flag bearer during the traditional opening day parade of the biennial event.
Members of the delegation wore barongs featuring the Philippine-flag inspired sun, as designed by Francis Libiran, paired with black pants.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino, chef de mission Chito Loyzaga and deputy chef de mission Leonora Escollante accompanied the delegation.
The 32nd SEA Games will run from May 5 to 17.
