Angel Gwen Derla snags second PH gold at 32nd SEA Games

(CNN Philippines, May 4) — Angel Gwen Derla won the second gold medal for the Philippines at the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the kun bokator event Thursday at the Chroy Changvar Convention Center in Cambodia.

The 19-year-old reigned supreme in the women’s single bamboo shield form with a score of 8.5 points, besting hometown bet Chanchorvy Puth who tallied a score of 8.47 points, and Indonesia’s Deslya Anggraini who placed third with 8.42 points.

Kaila Napolis earlier grabbed the first gold in women’s jiu-jitsu.

The Philippines now has collected two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals ahead of the Friday’s opening ceremony at the Morodok Techo Stadium.
