Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 3) — The De La Salle University Lady Spikers booked the first ticket to the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball finals after defeating the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses, 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19, in their Final Four clash Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
La Salle relied again on super rookie Angel Canino who tallied a game-high 19 points.
Libero Justine Jazareno was spectacular on the defensive end for DLSU, registering 22 excellent digs and 16 excellent receptions.
The Lady Spikers are entering their 20th finals appearance under 11-time champion mentor Ramil De Jesus. The Taft-based school last won the title in 2018.
La Salle will face the winner of the other Final Four matchup between twice-to-beat National University and Adamson University.
Eya Laure led UST with 15 points while Imee Hernandez contributed 12 points.
