Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 28) — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Pablo Luis Azcona as the new acting administrator and chief executive officer of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA).
The Palace announced Azcona’s appointment on Friday, almost a month after David Alba left the post.
Azcona represented planters in the SRA board. He secured the position last April 20, according to his appointment.
The previous SRA chief’s resignation took effect April 15.
Alba said his departure was due to a “worsening health condition.”
The agency was in the hot seat last year following the supposedly illegal sugar importation order.
