Occidental Mindoro gov’t allots ₱10 million for public hospital amid power crisis

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 24) – The provincial government of Occidental Mindoro has set aside ₱10 million worth of funds for the fuel of generators in public hospitals amid a power crisis.

In the resolution declaring Occidental Mindoro under a state of calamity, seven public hospitals will benefit from the local disaster risk reduction management fund.

These are Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital, Occidental Mindoro Provincial Hospital, San Jose District Hospital, San Sebastian District Hospital, Sta. Cruz Community Hospital, Paluan Community Hospital and Abra de Ilog Municipal Hospital.

The province has been under a state of calamity since April 20 due to long power interruptions that could last up to 20 hours a day.

The provincial government also called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to end the power crisis in the province.
