Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 18) — The governor of Pampanga announced a reward of ₱1 million for the capture of the suspects behind the shooting of provincial legal officer Atty. Gerome Tubig on Monday.
In a statement, Governor Dennis Pineda strongly condemned the attack on Tubig, who sustained gunshot wounds and is currently being treated in a hospital.
“Isang milyong piso po (₱1 million) ang pabuya na aking ibibigay sa sinumang makakapagbigay ng tamang impormasyon ukol sa mga pangalan at lokasyon ng mga salarin,” Pineda said in a social media post hours after the incident.

Authorities said the slay attempt occurred in front of a hospital in Barangay Sto. Rosario in the City of San Fernando around 7:30 a.m.
According to police, Tubig arrived at the parking lot in front of the hospital when two unidentified men onboard a single motorcycle and wearing helmets shot him “several times” before fleeing the scene.
The legal officer immediately received medical treatment, they said.
In another post on Tuesday morning, Pineda asked for continued prayers for Tubig’s recovery and assured that measures are being taken to ensure his safety.
“Milagro po ng Panginoon na buhay siya at ipinaglalaban ang kanyang buhay,” the governor said. “Patuloy din po ang mahigpit na pagbabantay sa kanya ng PNP (Philippine National Police).”
