Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 8) – Most Filipinos are ready to travel again in the summer months of 2023, a Publicus Asia survey found.
The Pahayag Quarter 1 survey said about 71% of Filipinos had made plans to travel between March and May.
Of those with travel plans, 69% will tour within the country, 7% plan to go abroad, while 24% plan to travel both domestically and internationally.
It also found that 3 in 4 or 75% of Filipinos felt safe enough to travel around the Philippines from March to May this year after the COVID-19 pandemic put tourism on hold from 2020 to 2022.
Meanwhile, 76% of Filipinos were open to the easing of border restrictions to foreign visitors while 75% said they were confident that Philippine tourism would revert to pre-pandemic levels.
The survey was conducted from March 2 to 6 with 1,500 respondents who were registered voters.
