MMDA: Personnel ready, protocols in place for surge of motorists after Holy Week

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 8)— Security and safety protocols are in place for the expected rush of motorists returning to Metro Manila after the Holy Week break, officials said Saturday.

In an interview, Victor Nuñez, Traffic Discipline Office Director for Enforcement of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), said the agency’s personnel are prepared for the surge of vehicles both on the roads and in terminals.

“We’re actually expecting Sunday night and Monday morning ‘yung buhos ng mga motorista [the influx of motorists] especially those coming from provinces, and also pag-alalay sa [helping out in] bus terminal for passengers coming from different provinces,” Nuñez said.

Meanwhile, authorities are also on stand-by in places of convergence for the remainder of the Holy Week break.
