(CNN Philippines, March 30) — RJ Abarrientos bagged the Rookie of the Year award in the 2022-2023 Korean Basketball League season.
The Filipino guard was honored Thursday in a ceremony.
“Just love here. Thank you for the love especially to the fans. They send me a lot of love on and off the court. This brings me a lot of confidence for my career,” he said during his acceptance speech.
Abarrientos posted a regular season average of 13.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.4 steals for the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus.
The Far Eastern University product is an integral part of Ulsan, which ended the regular season at fourth place with a 34-20 win-loss slate record to book a playoffs ticket.
