DOH logs 895 new COVID-19 cases, including 3 severe, critical cases

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 20) — The number of new COVID-19 cases in the country fell to 895 on Feb. 13 to 19, including three severe and critical cases, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.

In its weekly bulletin, DOH said it recorded a daily average of 128 new cases — 19% lower than the previous week.

DOH also verified during the past week 74 more COVID-19 related deaths. Four of them occurred on Feb. 6 to 19 while one was traced to as far back as July 2020.

Amid eased COVID-19 restrictions, the public was reminded that wearing a facemask in health facilities and public transportation is still required.

“The Department of Health continues to reiterate the importance of self-assessing our risks – knowing when to wear our masks and observing our implemented health protocols,” said DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire.
