Fuel price hikes to take effect this week

Prices of basic goods likely rose by 2.4-3.2 percent in February, with cheaper electricity, fuel, and food costs softening price movements, a unit of The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas says.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 23) – Fuel prices will increase on Tuesday, an oil company announced.

Advisories from Petro Gazz, PTT, Unioil, Cleanfuel, Caltex, and SeaOil on Monday said gasoline prices would go up by ₱2.80 and diesel by ₱2.25 effective on Jan. 24.

Meanwhile, Caltex and SeaOil said kerosene would go up by ₱2.40.

Last week, a mixed round of price adjustments was seen. Gasoline and diesel went up ₱0.95, and ₱0.50, respectively, while kerosene dropped by ₱0.15.

This will be the fourth round of oil price adjustments in 2023.
