Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 13) — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Friday said it released more than ₱14 billion to fund military retirees’ pensions for the first quarter of 2023.
In a statement, DBM said the fund was disbursed to the Department of National Defense—Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), covering the months of January to March.
As of Dec. 31, 2022, AFP payroll records showed that a total of 137,649 pensioners would benefit from the fund this quarter.
“It is our responsibility to make sure that our retirees, as well as their families, always get the benefits entitled to them… This is the least we can do to show them our sincerest gratitude and respect,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.
