Watch the biggest names in Vispop at a Cebu music festival
Kick off Sinulog week with some of the biggest names in the Visayan pop scene this Jan. 11 at the Vispop Music Festival at Ayala Center Cebu. The festival features a packed lineup of performers who will be performing Bisaya songs, including Missing Filemon, Oh! Caraga, TJ Monterde, Kurt Fick, Jacky Chang, Mandaue Nights, and more. The show starts at 1 p.m. Admission to the festival is free. For those who can’t make it in person, there’s also a livestream option via Zoom. Eunice Sanchez’s “tumtumpao iti nadagsen” (the heavy floats) is an evocation of the artist’s experience of moving from one place to another and histories with bodies of water. Lester Amacio’s “The Sky Can Wait” is inspired by the artist’s life as a migrant worker who lives in small, enclosed spaces abroad. Regina Reyes’ “Chasing the Quiet” is a reflection on time and re-discovery of new paths and selves. — DON JAUCIAN
