
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 7) — Eight out of 10 technical vocational education and training (TVET) students find employment after graduating, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) said on Friday.
The TVET sector posted an employment rate of 84.72% based on the preliminary results of the 2022 Study on Employment of TVET graduates (SETG) conducted by TESDA.
TESDA said it also posted a certification rate of 93% wherein 751,500 out of 808,227 of the assessed graduated and earned National Certificates in their respective fields.
It said it expanded the public’s access to TVET, adding that 1,024,266 graduates have been recorded out of 1,075,600 students enrolled in tech-voc courses as of November 2022.
“These graduates are job-ready and equipped with the right skills and knowledge that help them get jobs or engage in livelihood ventures almost immediately after graduation,” Director General Danilo Cruz said.

The annual SETG is conducted to measure relevance and effectiveness of tech-voc programs.
