Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 26) – A total of 15 new fireworks-related injuries were logged in just one day, from Dec. 25 to Dec. 26, the Department of Health reported on Monday.

The total number of pyrotechnic injuries has jumped to 20.

The health agency said this was the same number of injuries compared to the same period last year.

In its previous bulletin dated Dec. 24 to Dec. 25, the DOH said only one new injury was recorded, placing the total at only five cases at the time.

This was 50% lower than the recorded injuries from last year, or 10 within the same time period.
