Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 24) – Philippine Airlines will resume flights to Xiamen, China on Jan 13, the flag carrier announced on Friday.
“The reopening of our Manila-Xiamen service is a happy development [and] a good start for the restoration of our flights to and from the Chinese mainland,” PAL Vice President for Sales Bud Britanico said in a statement.
The PAL route to Xiamen will start operating every Friday with one flight per week. It will then build up frequencies overtime as COVID-19 restrictions ease.
The flights were paused for almost three years due to the pandemic.

PAL has had a series of authorized regular charter flights to Nanjing, Hangzhou, Tianjin and Wuhan since 2020, but its regular flights were suspended.
Before the pandemic, the airline operated flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Quanzhou (Jinjiang).
