PCG: More travelers in ports nationwide as Christmas nears

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 17) — Ports across the country are now seeing an increase in passengers as Christmas nears, with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reporting over 45,000 outbound travelers on Saturday.

As of noon, the PCG said a total of 45,721 outbound passengers and 35,554 inbound passengers were monitored in all ports nationwide.

It added that it has deployed more than 2,000 personnel and a total of 425 vessels and 680 motorbancas have so far been inspected.

The PCG also said all its districts, stations, and sub-stations are on “heightened alert” from Dec. 15 to Jan. 7 to manage the influx of port passengers.
