DOH logs 8,004 COVID-19 cases on Nov. 14-20, down 12% from previous week

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 21) — The country saw a total of 8,004 new COVID-19 cases from Nov. 14 to 20, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday.

The latest tally reflected a 12% decline from the previous week, the department said. The daily average number of cases was 1,143.

Two new critical infections were recorded while 568 critical patients are in hospitals.

The DOH also verified 93 deaths due to the disease, including 28 that occurred from Nov. 7 to 20.

According to the department’s COVID-19 tracker, the total number of cases nationwide stands at 4,025,917 with over 3.9 million recoveries and at least 64,000 deaths as of Nov. 20. Meanwhile, the tally of active cases is 18,647.

The DOH said more than 73.7 million individuals or 94.38% of the target population have been vaccinated against COVID-19 while 20.8 million have already received their booster shots.

Around 6.9 million senior citizens or 79.46% of the target A2 population have already received their primary dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
