Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 16) — The first stretch of the 8-kilometer NLEX Connector can start accommodating motorists “next month,” according to its operator.
NLEX President and General Manager Luigi Bautista on Wednesday said the section from Caloocan to España is now 90% complete.
The ₱23.2-billion NLEX Connector will pass through 5th Avenue/C3 Road, España Blvd., all the way to Sta. Mesa, Manila.
The whole project is expected to be finished and “fully” operatonal within the second quarter of 2023.
“This project augurs well for the transport industry as we expect trucks to have an easier access to trading centers in Central and Northern Luzon without having to squeeze through congested roads in Metro Manila,” Bautista said.
NLEX Corp. is a unit of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, the toll road arm of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation.
Aside from NLEX, the firm also operates the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway.
