Blacklist International defeats ECHO to claim third MPL-PH title

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 23) — Blacklist International is back on top of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines after beating ECHO, 4-2, in the Season 10 best-of-seven grand finals Sunday at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City.

This is Blacklist’s third MPL-PH crown after ruling Season 7 and 8.

The opening salvo saw a surprising jungler pick from Blacklist’s Danerie James “Wise” del Rosario as he went with Valentina. It paid off as the Codebreakers dominated every objective and were deadly in team clashes to draw first blood.

ECHO responded big in the second game with the lethal mage combo of Alston “Sanji” Pabico’s Lylia and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s Valir, which countered the collective effort of Blacklist to tie the match at one game apiece.

Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s Grock, who was assigned in the EXP lane, played a pivotal role in ECHO’s success in the crucial pickoffs as the Orcas took the 2-1 series advantage.

With Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap getting one of his signature heroes Benedetta, Blacklist clapped back aggressively as it handily controlled the map in the fourth match to even the series.

An early game lead in the fifth match paved the way for Blacklist to take control and move closer to capturing the title.

On the verge of securing the crown, Blacklist was simply unstoppable in the sixth game as it sealed the victory with an emphatic finish.

For his stellar performance throughout the championship series, EDWARD was named the Finals Most Valuable Player.

Blacklist will get the lion’s share of the prize pool of $150,000 (about ₱8.7 million).

Blacklist and ECHO will be representing the Philippines in the M4 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia scheduled in January 2023.
