
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 28) — Police on Tuesday arrested the suspect in Forbes Park shooting.
The shooter, identified as Julius Cortez, was arrested after a security guard shared information about his whereabouts to authorities.
The police seized a .40 caliber gun and two magazines loaded with 15 live ammunition from the suspect.
Cortez reportedly killed Jay Ar Tomenio and Eugene Sitjar at 14 Narra Street, South Forbes Park Village Monday night.
The suspect was a driver and security guard for the residence while the two victims were also security guards of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. executive Rose Nono Lin who reportedly rented the residence.
Initial investigation shows that Cortez entered the residence drunk and asked for his food from the victims. The witness, a housekeeper, told investigators that when Cortez could not find his food, he fired at the victims. Sitjar was shot in the head, while Tomenio was shot in his waist, according to the police report.
Cortez is under police custody pending the filing of a complaint for illegal possession of firearms and theft.
