Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 28) — Five people, including a six-month-old baby, were killed in a road accident in Tumauini, Isabela on Saturday.
According to the Police Regional Office 2, the incident happened at 2:30 p.m. along the National Highway in Barangay Balug and involved a trailer truck, a motorcycle, and tricycle.
An initial investigation revealed that the truck was heading north when it encroached upon the southwest lane where the motorcycle and tricycle were traveling and bumped both vehicles.
The drivers of the motorcycle and the tricycle were killed, along with three passengers. The baby was aboard the tricycle.
Two other people, including the driver of the truck, sustained injuries.
According to the report, the truck driver tested positive for alcohol in a breath test and is now under the custody of the Tumauini police.
